Shibby!

Meet Shibby, he is a little boy (wished he was a she so I could dress it up). My sister named him because her favorite movie is "Dude Where's My Car?". My mom thinks he is a Dotson Terrier mix, I wouldn't know because I am terrible with dog breeds! Shibby is a little lazy booger, when you hold him he will cozy up around your neck and just lay there! I love it because when I lay down he'll come and cuddle with me, which is great because I can not stand dogs jumping all over me and licking me! He is a little humper though, which I find hilarious because when I take him out to pee he is more worried about trying to hump my leg than peeing. When we get him to chase us he starts to hop because he has little stubby legs! He is pretty "Shibby" if I say so myself!

I made muffins

So today I got into a baking mood! I made homemade muffins and dipped them into a cinnamon and sugar glaze! I will show you how I made them so you can make and munch on them at home!
Mmmm yummy muffins!

Here is what you need!

Ingredients for the muffins!
2 cups of all purpose flour
1/2 cup of sugar
1 tablespoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 egg
3/4 cup of milk
and
1/3 cup of vegetable oil

Cooking utensils
A big mixing bowl
a bowl to separately mix your dry and wet ingredients in
a sauce pan
a muffin pan
measuring cups and spoons
and a mixing spoon!

Ingredients for the glaze
1/2 cup of butter
and
about 5 to 6 tablespoons of cinnamon and sugar (you can add more or less if you'd like).

Let's get to cooking!
First! Preheat your oven to 400 degrees fahrenheit.

In a bowl mix all the dry ingredients (2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt) together, then pour them into your big mixing bowl.

Mix your wet ingredients (1 egg, 3/4 cups of milk, and 1/3 cup of vegetable oil) in the same bowl you mixed your dry ingredients in. When you're done mixing your wet ingredients, pour them into your big mixing bowl and mix both your dry and wet ingredients together. Mix until moistened.

Pour your muffin mix into a greased muffin pan and pop these bad boys in the oven for 18-20 minutes!
*you can add things such as chocolate chips or blueberries in them if you wish*

Glaze
Melt your butter in your sauce pan then stir in your cinnamon and sugar.
*Do this step when your muffins are done and cooled down*

Topping your muffins
When your glaze is ready dip in your muffins (make sure you get the whole top part of the muffin covered with the glaze).
After you have glazed your muffins they're ready to eat!
~If you want, you can pour your glaze into a bowl and you can dip pieces of your muffin into it!~

Enjoy!

The best has yet to come

In this post I will pick top 10 celebs, that in my opinion were the best dressed of 2011!
10. Zooey Deschanel. I chose Zooey because she always has this cute awkward/indie look about her.
9.Elizabeth Olsen, she has very elegant and vintage style that suites her! She looks flawless and her beauty is effortless.
8. I chose Elle Fanning because even though she is 13 she dresses very mature. Her outfits don't make her look too old or too young, she balances out just well!
7. Kristen Stewart went from the awkward girl that wore Chucks with everything to a red carpet bombshell! Even though she has dropped the chucks and picked up some heals she still embodies her edginess.
6. Zoe Saldana in my opinion has never had a horrible outfit. She is always looking hot and elegant at the same time.
5. Jessica Biel can go from looking like a tomboy to a girl!
4. Alexa Chung has that British, Indie, Girly feel and you can totally see that through her clothes. I think that she is the only person that could look cute in a pair of petty loafers with a cute floral dress!
3. Blake Lively dresses like the young sexy vixen she is and never does it badly.
2. Kate Middleton dresses well as her role of Duchess. She is elegant and beautiful 24/7.
1. Pippa Middleton snagged number one. She dresses very elegant and mature. She pulls it off so well it looks effortless. What I like about her and her sister is that they wear things more than once!
Well that wraps up my top 10 best dressed of 2011! Hope you like the ladies I chose and if you have any opinions or suggestion for my blog or post let me know!

More than one way Friday

So every Friday I will do a post about an item (any item- something you can decorate with, wear, etc..) that you can wear/use more than one way. This Friday I will do "More than one way" with a pair of combat boots! I will show and describe how you can wear combat boots in a girly way, and edgy way, and a preppy way!
HereYaGo!
*To accessorize with the girly style add a cute pastel color clutch, a hairband (with a cute dainty flower or a feather), and stacked bracelets. With this look wear light, pastel colors! If you add darker, brighter, or bolder colors you wouldn't look like you're trying to achieve a girly look. The girly look is all about light colors and being dainty and cute.
*For the edgy look wear your hair up in a messy ponytail. Chose to wear some studded/edgy looking jewelry and an over sized black leather tote bag. For the edgy look wear blacks and grays
*Last but not least, with your preppy look add a layered pearl necklace, a solid black clutch, and a cute sassy, girly watch, (Blair Waldorf from "Gossip Girl" is a good inspiration for the preppy look). Also with the preppy look the colors I suggest wearing are dark colors such as; dark blue, mustard, red, and dark purple! With a preppy look outerwear that is best to wear are blazers and cardigans.

Black Crackling Nails

Okay so I am totally digging this nail polish! It's OPI's crackle nail polish! It is real neat you can paint your nails any color you like and once they're dried you top coat it with the crackle polish! The way it dries is real neat! You can purchase them at any store that sales nail products and it costs about $5 a bottle!

Day and Night

Here are items of clothing that can be used more than one way! I am using the weather to affect what item I choose and what to pair with it!

Destroyed Skinny Jeans
When doing skinny jeans during the day don't pair it with high heals because they will dress them! Also when doing them during the day don't pair it with anything too dressy unless you're going for a real dressy look during the day! As for night (like going out clubbing) dress it up! Pull out all the stops- hot as mess heals, cute blazers, nice/cute tops, and all the jewelry you can find!

day and night

Kimono Jacket
With bright colors use a pattern such as stripes just like the one I chose in my example. During the day wear a nice pair of boot-cut jeans and flats! You can dress up the jacket with nice silky tops, skinny jeans, and some rocking pair of heels!

Jumper
The jumper I chose is already dressy as it is so during the day you can chose to wear skinny jeans (such as i picked) or a pair of boot-cut jeans. Chose a pair of flats that has a contrasting texture than the jumper! In the night time wear skinny jeans and chose heals with a bright color.

Boots
To dress down knee high boots wear a sweater, jeans (tucked into the boots), and a cable knot scarf! To dress it up, pair a cute bright color, textured, or print shirt with either a blazer or cable knit cardigan! Pair with bangles and a long layered necklace.

Goodbye 2011

Well 2011 is almost over! We have gotten to see some cute trends and not so cute trends!
Here are top 5 trends (that I liked) of this year!

I like cups!

Ceramic coffee cup
This is the best cup to drink your coffee out of! It keeps your hot beverage hot, but it won't burn your hands when you touch it! The rubber top is very nice to keep your lips from getting your lips burned. It's also great to take on the go.
They range anywhere from $10-$20 depends on where you get it!

SubZero water bottle.

This is a must have for Eco-friendly people. This is a metal water bottle that will keep your beverage cold and crisp! It is also nice to have near while your working out!
!!!WARNING!!!
This thing gets super cold on the outside!
range from $3- $30 depends on where you get it and what size you get!

Tervis Tumbler
Okay so I absolutely LOVE the tumbler cups! I have one and I drink out of it ALL the time. They're dishwasher safe which is awesome! A good thing about this cup is that it doesn't dew- so NO COASTER! They're good for cold and hot drinks!
You can buy them from tervis.com
